Generation OverviewAfter taking a hiatus for the 2013 and 2014 model years, the 2015 Colorado marked the debut of the truck's second generation of production (2015-2020). When the 2015 Colorado launched, it boasted a new extended cab option, as well as standard features like a rearview camera and larger touchscreen interface. Chevrolet Colorado Engine Options Under the hood, the second-generation Colorado (2015-2020) features a 2.5L four-cylinder engine at 200 hp; this engine is paired to a six-speed manual transmission, although a six-speed automatic is available. Front-wheel drive is also standard, with four-wheel drive optional. Also optional is a more powerful 3.6L V6 engine at 305-308 hp (varies by model year) and a six-speed automatic transmission. This engine can also be had with either front- or for-wheel drive. Beginning in 2016, a turbocharged 2.8L four-cylinder diesel engine at 181 hp also became optional on LT and above trims. The extended cab can seat up to four passengers, whereas the crew cab accommodates up to five. A five-foot-two-inch and six-foot-two-inch bed are also available. Well built, solid and my first American owned car for several years.
Pros
The Colorado is very easy to drive in daily traffic and makes a good useful travel vehicle. Even though it has the short box I have been able to take along all the stuff we want when exploring either on a long trip or weekend adventure. The biggest plus is the gas mileage it provides, it beats the prior truck by 3 MPG! Plus the Chevy MyLink is an easy to use system once you learn how to interface with it's features. Pros
- Leoanrd Gutshall, 2015 Chevrolet Colorado Truck does well hauling. I've put 4,000 lbs of wooden posts and trailer behind it and it pulled just fine. Has tight steering so it feels sporty on the road but I haven't been afraid to burry it to the axles in mud. A set of all terrains made this truck very versatile. Also, I'm 6-4 and just took this truck on vacation. I didn't feel cramped. Only downside is cab space. If you're going to get the extended cab just go ahead and get the full size 4 door. There isn't much storage space in the extended cab once the seats are all the way back. Pros
