How long of a bale spear do I need?

If you are putting up 4X4', 4X5', or 4X6' round hay bales, we recommend 43”-49” length. The key to it is, for easy removal, you never want more than 85% of the spear thru the bale. If you are putting up the large square hay bales, for the 3X3X8' bale use the 33” long 3500 lb rated.

How much does a bale spear weigh?

Bale Spear uses tapered sleeve with nut. Two stabilizer spears at bottom attached with straight sleeve and locking bolt. The Bale Spear weight is 240 Pounds.

What steel are bale spears?

All spears are made of silicon manganese spring steel. Each spear is roll forged, heat-treated, hardened and tempered with a nominal hardness of 45/49HRC. Each spear is straightened and strength tested. All spears include nut.
