Can i use my cash app without a card

  • You currently can't use a prepaid card on Cash App to add funds to your account.
  • Cash App accepts linked bank accounts and credit or debit cards backed by Visa, American Express, Discover, or MasterCard.

Cash App makes it easy for peer-to-peer money transactions, but said transactions can't come from just any payment method. At this time, for example, Cash App does not allow you to use a prepaid card to add funds to your account.

Instead, you need to use a bank account or a debit or credit card backed by either Visa, American Express, MasterCard, or Discover.

You can't use a prepaid card on Cash App — here's how to add a bank account or accepted card

1. Open the Cash App on your iPhone or Android and tap on the icon at the bottom-left corner of the screen (it looks like a building).

2. Tap "Add Bank" and then enter your debit card information to add the card and your linked bank account.

3. If you don't have a debit card (or don't have it handy) you can tap "No Card?" and then select your bank from the list supplied, or by searching for it by name. You will then be prompted to enter the same username and password that you use for the bank's site.

Once a bank is linked to your Cash App, you will then get the option to add a credit card in the same place that you added your bank or debit card. Steven John/Business Insider

After adding a bank account or debit card to the app, you can then add a credit card or another regular (non-prepaid) debit card to your Cash App account.
