Normally I would be thinking I'm out for this cycle when I just had brown/pink/clear spotting upon wiping a little bit ago. But, I ALWAYS without fail, have horrific cramps when I get my period and right now I have NONE. I'm 12 dpo, which I understand is on the outskirts of a normal implantation timeframe. My question is, is it possible for implantation to have occurred and the spotting is just happening now (brown= old blood)? I had a BFN on 10 dpo and am trying hard not to retest until Thursday when AF is due.

My period was a day late. Negative test. Then light period like bleeding for three days, but seemed like allot for implantation. Then a week later had a positive pregnancy test.

I just thought how weird it was. I never learned about that before it happened to me. So I wondered how it was for everyone else.

I had enough bleeding that I thought it was my period, until my ultrasound when I found out I was at least a week further along than I had originally thought. So weird. I can’t remember if it was a lot of bleeding just that I marked it in my Calendar as a period.

Like 2-3 days of very light, bright red blood mixed with some clear mucus-y discharge. Not enough to wear a pad or liner but definitely noticeable. Started (I'm guessing) just a few days after conception. Never had bleeding like that before so I'm assuming that's what it was.

I personally didn’t have any implantation bleeding, only cramping. I had just had an IUD removed though so I hadn’t had a period in over two years so I’m not sure if that effected it. Every body is different!

For both my babies (15 mo old and 27 was pregnant now), I had the weirdest period that lasted two days and disappeared.

But for my daughter, a week later when we were traveling in Scotland and went to a restaurant, I found out I was bleeding or spotting and stained their chair at the end of dining. This was a good week after the weird period. Good thing my pants were black. My MIL made me run out and she was too flustered to let them know.

This baby I’m pregnant with, no more bleeding after that two day period.

I never had any, just a weird twingey feeling for a few hours on the right side of my uterus, by my pelvic bone.

It depends. I never had implantation bleeding with any of my pregnancies.

The phrase "Implantation" Bleeding is popular on conception forums but is a bit of a misnomer that causes some people to think that the bleeding is due to the embryo implanting. It isn't -- the embryo is only about 0.2mm in diameter at that point, and won't displace significant blood (or cause pain) when it implants. You bleed when progesterone levels in your body drop, which is why you can induce a period by stopping birth control pills (which contain progesterone) or by taking and then stopping progesterone suppositories or Provera (which are also progesterone). Progesterone levels dropping in the luteal phase can be caused by a) increased estrogen in the mid-luteal-phase estrogen surge, which briefly depresses estrogen production, or b) a decrease in progesterone when the corpus luteum runs out of gas at the end of the luteal phase. If b), and you're actually pregnant, your levels can drop briefly before the embryo starts producing enough HCG to tell the corpus luteum to ramp the levels up. Either way, luteal phase spotting can either be a neutral sign (in the case of mid-luteal phase spotting) or a negative sign (in the case of late luteal phase progesterone dropping), but it doesn't have anything to do with implantation, and is not a positive sign of being pregnant. I had 3 or 4 days of implantation bleeding starting 5 days before my period was due. It was light; I used panty liners and it was similar to the end of my period type bleeding but red. Maybe some very light cramping but not much.

Can you still have you’re period after implantation bleeding?

How long after implantation bleeding until you test positive?

About four to five days after implantation bleeding, HCG levels in the body reach detectable levels in the blood. For at-home urine pregnancy tests, it may take up to 7 days for HCG levels in the urine to reach detectable levels for testing.

Can you test positive immediately after implantation?

After implantation, production of hCG starts from cells in the developing placenta (tissue that will feed the fetus). Trace levels of hCG can be detected as early as eight days after ovulation. That means you could get positive results several days before you expect your period to start.
