How long after inserting NuvaRing will my period stop? It's most common during the first few months of using NuvaRing. The bleeding (and other side effects) usually go away in 2-3 months when your body adjusts to the hormones.
How likely is it to get pregnant on the NuvaRing?Effectiveness. The NuvaRing is 91%–99% effective. This means that with perfect use, less than 1 out of every 100 people who use the birth control ring will become pregnant in one year. With typical use, 9 out of every 100 people who use NuvaRing will become pregnant in one year.
What makes the NuvaRing less effective? The main thing that makes the ring not work is not using it correctly. That means you're more likely to get pregnant if: You don't put your ring in on time every cycle. Your NuvaRing ring is out of your vagina for more than 2 days (48 hours) in a row during the weeks when your ring should be in your vagina.
How long does it take for NuvaRing to release hormones? The muscles in your vaginal wall will keep the NuvaRing® in place for three weeks. During that time, it will slowly release a low dose of hormones that are needed to prevent pregnancy. When 21 days are completed, you simply remove the NuvaRing® to allow your body to have its normal menstrual cycle.
