How to put an image behind a post in story?

If you’re not using Instagram Stories for your business, you could be missing out on a great opportunity. Not only are Instagram Stories fun and creative, but they are one of the best ways to build engagement, increase brand awareness, and even generate sales. In this article, you’ll find several content creation strategies so you can create the best Stories to elevate your business.

With over 500 million daily users, Instagram Stories are a great way to reach new potential customers and create a stronger connection with your existing customers.

Instagram stories were first launched in 2016 and have continued to grow in popularity on the platform ever since. In fact, the average number of posts published by each influencer has decreased every year since stories came on the map.

A great way to get more exposure and increase your audience’s engagement rate is to share your post in your story. To make your story aesthetically pleasing, you can personalize it by putting an image behind the post you’re sharing.

Instagram stories are full of features perfect for capturing viewers’ attention, attracting their interest and most importantly, converting them into loyal customers. And even if you haven’t reached 10,000 followers yet.

Hack steps

  • Step 1: The first step is to choose the post you want to share in story to encourage your followers to see and interact with it.

  • Step 2: Next, you need to import the photo you want to add as a background to your Instagram story.

  • Step 3: Next, you need to hold both images at the same time so that your photo goes to the back of your post.

  • Step 4: Finally, all you have to do is publish.

What does it bring?

Instagram stories are continually evolving, introducing more features that drive engagement, ideal for starting conversations, humanizing your brand or even getting real-time feedback from your target audience.

Instagram stories have tons of easy-to-use features that encourage audience engagement like polls or playful emoji stickers. If you’re lacking inspiration, there’s a “create” mode that offers tons of pre-populated stickers designed to spark your creativity and encourage more engagement.

Here is the list of features to use.

The first is the “survey” sticker which is one of the fastest and easiest to use and instantly increases engagement.

Then there is the “Emoji slider” sticker, this is another feature that increases engagement easily and can be versatile due to the huge amount of emojis offered.

Then there’s the “questions” sticker, which is extremely popular because it encourages more interaction. Whether it’s collecting feedback or making up questions for a Q&A session, this sticker is a way to get quick responses from your audience.

Then there is the “quiz” sticker which can be a fun and light-hearted way to communicate your brand’s history or details about a new product launch for example.

Then there’s the “discussion” sticker, which is a great tool for creating a quick discussion board with up to 32 participants.

Finally, you can go “Live” in your Instagram stories to instantly increase engagement, as it’s not only a great way to capture your followers’ attention, but it’s also a great forum to encourage tons of questions and comments.

  • There are two ways to change the background color of your Instagram Story.
  • If you're posting a photo or video to your Instagram Story, you can change the background color with the Draw tool.
  • If you're just using the Create feature, there's a selection of preset background colors to choose from.

You can customize your Instagram Story in a number of ways, including changing the background color.

Specifically, there's two major ways to change your Story's background color. Which one you use will depend on whether you want to include a photo or video with your Story, or just text and stickers.

Here's how to change your Instagram Story background color in both ways.

How to change your Instagram Story background color if it has an image or video

Most Instagram Stories include a picture. But unless that picture fills up the entire screen, there's going to be some blank spaces in the background.

You can change this background color using the Draw tool. This method is a bit imprecise, but it does work, and lets you pick pretty much any color you want.

1. Open Instagram and tap the Your story icon in the top-left, then select the photo or video that you want to upload.

2. Tap the three dot icon in the top-right corner, then select Draw.

3. Toolbars will appear at the top and bottom of the screen. Tap the left-most option in the top toolbar (it looks like a pencil tip), and pick the color that you want from the bottom toolbar.

4. Tap and hold your finger anywhere on the screen. After a second, the entire screen will fill with the color you chose.

5. Now tap the right-most option in the top toolbar to turn on the eraser. Drag your finger across the screen to wipe away the color covering your photo or video.

This can be a messy process, so go slow and remember to use the Undo button in the top-left. You can also use the slider on the left to make your brush bigger or smaller.

Once you've erased the background, you might want to use the pen again to fill in any blank spots. Meta; William Antonelli/Insider

Once you're done, go ahead and add any stickers or captions that you want, then post it.

How to change your Instagram Story background color with the Create tool

The other way that most people make Instagram Stories is using the Create tool. This feature gives you templates that you can use to quickly post a poll, timer, GIF, and more. The big difference is that it doesn't let you include photos or videos.

And unlike the method above, the Create tool has a feature that lets you change background colors built right into it. Here's how to use it.

1. Open Instagram and swipe to the right to turn on the camera, and then select the Aa Create option on the left.

2. A page will appear where you can pick your Story's template. You'll also notice a small bubble appear in the bottom-right corner — tap this bubble to cycle through background colors.

3. When you find one that you like, choose your Story's template and fill it all out. Once you're ready, post it.

You can also use the Draw tool method here too. Once you've finished making your Story and get to the page that lets you choose who can see it, tap the three dot icon in the top-right and select Draw. All the same steps work.
