Plugged in cant charge right now moto x4

If you are experiencing incorrect or inconsistent battery level, quick battery discharge, slow or erratic charging speeds, or sudden power off or rebooting, a battery calibration could correct the problem.

To perform a battery calibration:

  1. Force reboot the device by holding the power button until the device reboots
  2. Plug into supplied charger
  3. Charge to 100% and leave on the charger for at least an additional hour after getting to 100%

If you have performed these steps and you are still experiencing battery or charging issues you can visit our troubleshooting page, or submit your device for repair.

The “Plugged In, Not Charging” status you see when you mouse over the battery icon in the Windows taskbar indicates that the AC adapter is plugged in to run the computer, but the battery isn’t charging.

Why is my laptop plugged in and not charging?

Remove Battery

If your laptop is actually plugged in and yet it is still not charging, the battery might be the culprit. If so, learn about its integrity. If it’s removable, take it out and press (and hold down) the power button for around 15 seconds. What this will do is drain the remaining power from your laptop.

Motorola's most recent Moto X, released in August 2017.

When I plug in my Moto X4 the charging light will not turn on and the indicator on the screen does not show that it is charging

When plugged in, the Moto X4 will take a few seconds before it starts charging. If the battery was completely emptied, the Moto X4 may take a few minutes before the device starts charging.

Check the charging cable to make sure it is not frayed. If the cable is cut or disconnected, it might be possible to solder the connection back together and insulate the soldering job with the proper heat shrink. Otherwise, look at finding another Moto X4 Turbocharger.

Make sure the charging cable is completely plugged in all the way. Also be sure to check that the charger is the original charger that came with your Moto X4, as some chargers may be too weak to even charge the Moto X4.

Screen does not register inputs

Locate the power button on the right side of the Moto X4. Press and hold it down for 3 seconds until you have the option to power off the device, then turn it off. Let it set for a minute then restart it.

Clean your hands and dry them thoroughly before touching the device. Then check the screen for any foreign material and wipe it down with a microfiber cloth.

Dropping this device or water getting into the phone from previous repairs can damage the screen. If display assembly is damaged, it will have to be replaced. Refer to our display assembly replacement guide.

When audio is played or phone rings, MotoX4 does not reach volume level set by user

Turn up or down the volume using the uppermost two buttons located on the right side on the phone. The buttons turn up or down the volume respectively.

While running an application, only the actual volume may be adjusted and not the ringer. Go back to homescreen in order to adjust the ringer audio volume.

Make sure there is an obstruction in the ear speaker first because speaker can become more damaged if this is not the case. Use tweezers to pull out if the obstruction is lint or something larger. Use compressed air to blow out any dirt or dust.

The power button is unresponsive and the device will not show any sign of powering on.

Locate the charging port on the bottom of the phone . Plug in the phone using the original charger that it came with. After plugging it in, make sure the indicator light turns on and let the phone charge until it can be powered on.

If plugging in the phone has no effect on the battery, it may need to be replaced. Refer to our replacement guide

If the device has been left out in the sun for a while, it may have overheated. Place the phone in a cool area and let it set for several minutes before attempting to turn it on again.

Device will not connect to wifi and/ or bluetooth

If your device has not booted properly, try restarting the device. To hard restart the device, plug in your Moto X4 and hold down the power button for 10-20 seconds. If this does not restart the device, try holding down the power button and the volume down button at the same time for 30-40 seconds.

Go into the Wi-Fi settings of the device and tap “Forget Network” on your network. Restart your router and reconnect to the same network again.

Verify bluetooth device is working using another device. Most of the bluetooth issues occur from compatibility issues. Check to ensure both devices are compatible with each other. Try a soft reset of the device, turn off and on the bluetooth device and then remove pairing and reconnect completely.

Why does my phone say plugged in but can't charge right now?

Your charging cable might have a loose wire, the adapter could have malfunctioned, or even the socket it's plugged into could be failing to transmit the current properly. To rule out a faulty cable, attempt to charge your phone through a different cable, adapter, or power source.

Why is my Motorola phone not charging when plugged in?

If the Moto G will not charge while being correctly plugged in, the charging cord may be damaged. To test this, try using a different charging cord and perhaps a different wall outlet.

Does Moto X4 support wireless charging?

The Moto X4 doesn't have wireless charging. It's only made of glass because glass is a premium material, or whatever.
