Type F Transmission Fluid Is power steering fluid the same as power trim fluid?Chances are you won't notice any difference. ATF and power steering are pretty close in viscosity, 30wt motor oil is way more viscous. If you needed a lot of fluid, your tabs would probably be slower with the 30wt.
What fluid is use in power tilt and trim?An electric pump runs the hydraulic fluid in the power tilt and trim system, and if you get a leak, the hydraulic fluid will ooze out and allow air to replace it in the system. When that happens, the motor will usually tilt all the way down and will not go up or will stick.
What kind of fluid goes in boat hydraulic steering?Tip. In an emergency, 5W motor oil will work well enough in your hydraulic system to get you home.
