Do slow cooker chicken breasts need liquid?

Do You Need to Add Liquid? As long as the breast pieces are in a single layer, in contact with the slow cooker, then no, it's not necessary. If you're doing multiple layers, you will need to add liquid to cover the meat, but I don't recommend this. The seasonings won't stick as well.

Does chicken breast go tough in slow cooker?

Aside from accidentally overcooking the meals, the most common reason we see for tough, rubbery, or overdone chicken is customers using a Crockpot that is far too big. Each of our meals comes with a recommended slow cooker size.

Does cooking chicken in the crockpot longer make it more tender?

The connective tissue is turned to gelatin after slow cooking in moist heat for several hours. That is why tough meats become “fork tender” in the slow cooker.

Can you put raw chicken in soup to cook?

Yes, you can put raw chicken in soup. I do this all the time. You just have to cook the soup long enough to fully cook the chicken.
