Five minutes is all it takes to get this Cheesy Green Bean Casserole in the oven. Filled with mushrooms, green beans, French-fried onions and deliciously melty cheddar cheese, this classic dish is sure to please. Ingredients

  • 2 cans (14.5 oz each) cut green beans, drained
  • 1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (8 oz)
  • 2 jars (4.5 oz each) sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 can (6 oz) French-fried onions
  • Chopped fresh parsley, if desired

Steps

    Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 8-inch square (2-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray.

    In large bowl, mix all ingredients except onions and parsley. Stir in half of the onions. Spoon mixture into baking dish.

    Bake uncovered 30 minutes. Sprinkle remaining onions over top. Bake 5 minutes longer or until bubbly and onions are golden brown. Garnish with parsley.

Ingredients

  • 1 can French’s Fried Onions
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 lb swiss cheese, grated
  • 3 16 oz cans green beans, drained

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and grease a casserole dish.
  2. Heat the butter and add your flour to make a roux. Once the flour is incorporated and thickening, turn to low heat and add sour cream.
  3. Then add the salt and sugar to complete the white sauce
  4. Layer green beans with Swiss cheese and two thirds of the fried onions in casserole dish, alternating layers.
  5. Pour white sauce over top. Bake 15 min or until bubbly.
  6. Bake 15 min or until bubbly.
  7. Sprinkle remaining fried onions and bake for another 5 min or until onions are golden.
